Refuge de Tiolache du milieu
Refuge de Tiolache du milieu is a very small, unguarded mountain hut in the Vercors (at 1,560 m). It’s intended for first-come, first-served use rather than bookings, and it has limited sleeping space (about 4–6 people typically, with the hut described as “very small” for its function).
Inside, expect a basic setup with a wood/coal stove and a table/banc seating; the building is stone with an interior described as wood-lined. It’s regulated as part of the Vercors high plateaus natural reserve: dogs are not allowed, fires are prohibited, and camping is not allowed (bivouac—tents set up after 5 pm and removed before 9 am—is allowed). For water, the nearby Fontaine de Tiolache is around 1,490 m but can run dry, so don’t rely on it as your only source.
