Refuge de Vallonpierre

Refuge de Vallonpierre is a backcountry hut run by the Club Alpin Français in the Valgaudemar area of the Ecrins. It sits at about 2262 m, with sleeping for 39 people in 4 dormitories; during the guarded season and outside of it, you’ll still need a sleeping bag/drap de couchage for your spot in the hut.

The refuge is used as a base for high-alpine objectives and nearby routes, including hikes on GR54 (Tour de l’Oisans) and the Tour du Vieux Chaillol, plus climbs toward Sirac (over 3400 m) and the Banc des Aiguilles. It lies within Parc National des Ecrins, and the official booking page covers guardian coverage (early June to late September) and the reservation/conditions flow for stays.
