Refuge de Véran

Refuge de Véran is a backcountry mountain hut operated by the Club Alpin Français (Sallanches), set at 1,608 m. The hut is a renovated old alpage chalet that was converted into a refuge in 1970, and it’s used as a simple base for alpine hiking and nearby climbing routes.

The hut runs with a summer guardian window in July and August; outside that period it’s listed as ungarded but monitored in July and August. Capacity is 27 sleeping places in total (2 dormitories), and the hut includes basic sleeping setup plus a gas cooker and wood heating, with no on-site restaurant services. It accepts reservations via the hut’s booking system during the appropriate period on the operator website.
