Refuge des Amis de la Nature Haycot

Refuge des Amis de la Nature Haycot is a backcountry gîte used as an overnight stop in the Vosges area near Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, managed by the Amis de la Nature de Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. It sits on the GR5 at about 1,070 m, close to the parking area at Grand Brézouar, and the refuge is dedicated to sleeping accommodation.

Access is directly tied to the GR5 approach and the immediate Grand Brézouar area: it’s reached from St Dié des Vosges via the Col du Bonhomme, from Colmar via the village of Le Bonhomme, and from Strasbourg via Sélestat and then Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines toward Col des Bagenelles. A forest road access from Col des Bagenelles is 3.5 km and is not cleared in winter.

The refuge has been closed for works for a minimum of one year, so there is no public reception in the meantime. When closed, there is also no accessible fountain or spring nearby.
