Refuge des Clots

Refuge des Clots is a small mountain hut in the Écrins area, above Lake Chambon at 1,515 m. It sits on the GR 50 and GR 54 C routes and is used as a first overnight stop on the way to the Emparis plateau and its high-altitude lakes.

The refuge is managed locally and sleeps 19 people in two dormitories. Full-board and half-board are offered, with dry toilets located outside the main building; meals are paired with a small catering setup (breakfast, meals, and drinks). Reservations are handled directly by the wardens, with contact by phone (+33 (0)6 41 66 40 80) and email via the refuge’s reservation contact method.

Use runs from 01/05 to 31/10 (daily), with dates outside that period covered by limited opening around weekends in May and October. The site is under environmental protection rules: stay on the marked paths to avoid damaging the protected geological phenomenon near the hut, and keep dogs on a leash.
