Refuge d'hiver de Tête Rousse
Refuge d'hiver de Tête Rousse is a high-alpine backcountry refuge on Mont Blanc at about 3,167 m, managed by FFCAM for winter use when the main hut is not staffed. It’s used as a staging base for mountaineering objectives in the massif, including approaches tied to the normal-route system via the Goûter direction.
Use in winter is self-service: a single dormitory room (12-person) is left open for mountaineering use when the refuge isn’t guarded. For the staffed period, the guarded season runs roughly from late May to early October, and reservations are handled through the FFCAM booking platform; for same-day questions or emergencies, the hut staff can be reached by phone.
