Refuge du Bockswasen

Refuge du Bockswasen is a backcountry hut managed by Vosges-Trotters Strasbourg on the Vosges massif near Petit Ballon (about 1,186 m). It’s a foot-access refuge reached from the Petit Ballon area, either by the GR532 or on foot from the Breitfirst parking area (about a 20-minute walk from the parking point to the hut).

Capacity is 19 people in five dormitories, with a rustic setup: solar electricity, wood/coal for heating and cooking, and water drawn by hand pump from a non-potable source (no hot water at the tap). Bring your own sleeping bag/liner, headlamp, and provisions.

Use is for Vosges-Trotters Strasbourg members and their guests, and stays are arranged through the refuge manager. Email the hut management at resabocks@gmail.com to check availability and request a booking; access can be restricted and the refuge may be closed for extended maintenance.
