Refuge du Couvercle d'hiver

Refuge du Couvercle d'hiver is an ungarded winter refuge run by the Fédération française des clubs alpins et de montagne. It has sleeping capacity for 20 and is set up for winter use from September through the end of April (guarded periods are handled separately). The hut has a fireplace, mattresses, and charges a fee; cash and cheque payments are accepted, and reservation is required.
