Refuge du Grenairon

Refuge du Grenairon is a mountain hut near Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval at 1,974 m, run by Patrice et Cécile Lavocat. It was built in 1910, then the original building was destroyed by a lightning-caused fire; it was rebuilt in 1985.

The refuge has 35 beds (two levels) and offers showers. It operates from June to September.

The official site states the refuge is closed and directs visitors to plan for a reopening in June 2026.
