Refuge du Hirzberg
Refuge du Hirzberg is a non-guarded backcountry hut at about 1,100 m in the Vosges area (Grand Est, Haut-Rhin). The hut has a wood-burning stove and basic seating/furnishings including a table, a bench, and a long banquette that provides sleeping for two people.
There’s no latrine inside the hut. A water source is available within roughly 100 m downhill from the shelter. The hut includes a wood stove, and there’s an indication that it was built in 1963 and then restored in 2024; for use, plan on bringing your own bedding (no blankets are provided) and manage cooking/heating carefully to avoid smoke when operating the stove.
