Refuge du Mont-Joly

Refuge du Mont-Joly (Chalet-Refuge du Mont-Joly / Pavillon du Mont-Joly) is a backcountry refuge on the Mont Blanc massif above Saint-Gervais. Built in 1925, it sits at about 2,002 m and operates as a refuge and restaurant during the ski-area season. Use is explicitly described as “only in summer” for overnight stays.

The refuge is set up for 15 couchages in 2 dormitories, plus 1 independent double bed and also a 2-person night “dome.” Electric power and water are provided (water capture/source), with indoor and outdoor toilets and 3 showers. The official site provides contact numbers and uses its own booking/contact flow; it also lists the refuge’s access by hikes and provides additional details for both the refuge and restaurant offerings.
