Refuge du Promontoire

Refuge du Promontoire is a Club Alpin Français backcountry hut in the Écrins, at 3,092 m, perched on the Promontoire spur facing the south side of the Meije. It’s a key base for high-alpine routes tied to the Meije and is used by climbers as well as experienced hikers looking for a technical, ridge-based day out.

The refuge has 30 sleeping places during the gardiennage period and 18 during the off-guard period. Official information gives two guided access windows for the guardian: mid-March to early May (winter) and early June to the first weekend of September (summer), with the guardian’s contact details listed on the hut page.
