Refuge du Spitzenberg Selestat
Refuge du Spitzenberg Selestat is a backcountry gîte managed by Vosges Trotters near Thannenkirch in the Vosges, at 673 m. Use is organized around advance booking; if you want to avoid arriving to a full or unstaffed refuge, reserve with the operator.
The refuge site includes two buildings: a larger unit with capacity for 32 people in four dormitories (2 to 12 beds per room) and a smaller unit with 12 places in one dormitory. Access is by car from the col du Schaentzel via a 3 km non-paved road. On-site facilities include a kitchen with tableware, a stove, and a refrigerator (no freezer), plus a common room and at least one indoor WC; both shower and wash basins are available. Keys are picked up on Saturday morning or early afternoon from Damm in Sélestat after showing a copy of the booking contract.
