Refuge du Taillefer
Refuge du Taillefer is a backcountry alpine hut at about 2,056 m on the Taillefer plateau near Oulles, used as an all-summer base in the Oisans. Sleeping options include a dormitory, yurts, or a tent.
When the hut is open (12 June to 20 September 2026, closed outside the guarding period), booking is recommended; when the refuge is open, it’s recommended to reserve by SMS. The hut sleeps up to 25 people (one dormitory). Hot water is provided by solar energy, and there are toilets that use dry sanitation. Pets aren’t accepted, and the area is Natura 2000—plan to follow low-impact behavior rules there.
If you want to bivouac around the refuge, it’s allowed with a fee of €5 per tent, and advance reservation with the refuge is required. The refuge has a tabletop orientation point 50 m from the hut.
