Refuge forestier de Laval
Refuge forestier de Laval is a small backcountry refuge in the hamlet of chalets de Laval in the Clarée valley near Névache. It’s a wood-style mountain refuge with a large chimney and simple common furnishings (a table and benches).
The refuge sleeps up to 2 people. It has a fireplace and is set at about 1,262 m elevation. Day-to-day, the approach is by booked stay during the operating season; use is organized through the Refuge Laval booking system.
For summer access, you drive to the Laval parking before 8:00 AM (paying parking) and then the refuge is about 200 m downhill from the road; after 9:00 AM there is a shuttle from the end of the road. In winter access is only via winter travel from the Ville Haute parking area (the road is not used), such as ski touring, cross-country skiing, or snowshoe routes.
