Refuge Jean-Luc Coutaz-Replan
Refuge Jean-Luc Coutaz-Replan is a small, unmanaged mountain shelter in the Belledonne massif near Lac de la Motte, used as a backcountry stop for short overnights on foot or in winter conditions. Sleep capacity is 4 (with mattresses for part of the sleeping space).
Use is free on a first-come, first-served basis—there’s no booking. The main building is closed to the public, and the usable accommodation is in an annex shelter; water is available within about 100 m. Expect no heating and no privy; bring your own sleeping system and plan to handle cold temperatures, snow clearance at the door, and basic self-management (there’s a broom and a shovel for cleanup).
