Refuge Le Châtelet d'Ayères

Refuge Le Châtelet d’Ayères is a backcountry alpine hut operated by Michel & Martine Gayet in the 1425 m area. The refuge provides shower access and offers beds for about 25 people, with summer opening from May to September (no winter refuge use). It’s a chalet-style refuge dating to 1908 and is kept for seasonal use by the hosts.

The hut is frequently used in summer; it offers lodging in rooms and dorms and has a restaurant operation at midday during the busy season. The refuge is on Route du Chatelet and runs with phone/mobile contact through Michel & Martine Gayet for stays during the open season.
