Refuge Neuweiher

Refuge Neuweiher is an on-foot accessible auberge-refuge by the shores of Lake Grand Neuweiher (830 m). It’s set in a glacial cirque above Oberbruck near the GR531 and is used for short stays and half-board refuge nights.

For sleeping, the refuge offers 38 beds split between single rooms and dormitories. Reservations are required, and the booking process is by phone or email (not by web booking intermediaries). The refuge is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, with Tuesday evenings available only for overnight guests; it also states a spring-to-November opening window depending on weather.

Access options from trailheads include Oberbruck (about 1h30), Ermensbach (about 45 minutes), and the Rouge Gazon area (about 2h30). Payment is by cash or French checks only; for meals, it also specifies phone reservation only. To plan a hut-to-hut day, use the listed walking routes and nearby trail network around the Vosges lakes and forest trails.
