Refuge Rothenbrunnen (Amis de la Nature)
Refuge Rothenbrunnen (Amis de la Nature) is a backcountry hut on Le Petit Ballon between the valleys of Munster and Guebwiller, run by the Amis de la Nature de Guebwiller. It’s open every weekend under the care of a warden, with Saturday hours from 16:00 to 24:00 and Sunday hours from 00:00 to 16:00, providing a place to rest, eat, and shelter for hikers on the mountain.
The refuge has rooms and a total sleeping capacity of 32 beds, with reservations limited to groups of up to 22 people. The on-site setup includes drinks for thirsty hikers and a kitchen for preparing meals, and it provides cups/serving equipment for eating. Pets are allowed, but the refuge has no internet access.
