Refuge Temple-Écrins
Refuge Temple-Écrins is a Club Alpin Français backcountry refuge in the Ecrins, set at 2410 m. It’s staffed for the 2026 season from 6 June to 13 September, with 48 sleeping places (2 dormitories).
The refuge is kept in the Vénéon valley access area managed around the Bérarde/Étages corridor; for Temple Écrins, the access details depend on the date and are routed through Combe Noire (the terminus), with restrictions described for the Vénéon valley during the shuttle period. In 2026, the valley is reachable exclusively by shuttle from 4 July to 30 August (16 round trips daily), and locations like the Bérarde remain subject to access restrictions; people with refuge reservations may be allowed to drive as far as the Étages within the limited marked parking spaces.
