Shakes Slough Number 1 Cabin

Shakes Slough Number 1 Cabin is a 12' x 14' Pan Abode backcountry cabin in the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness, a short distance from the Shakes Slough #2 Cabin for groups who rent both. The cabin sleeps up to 4 people with 2 single bunks and 2 double bunks, plus a wooden table and benches, and an oil space heater that requires #1 stove oil (not provided). Use includes an outhouse and a wooden cooler box on the partially covered front porch for food storage.

You’ll need to bring your own essentials: bedding, cook stove, lanterns/flashlights, utensils, and drinking water (potable water isn’t available). The cabin is not electrified, so plan for off-grid cooking and heating. Overnight use is $35 per night (peak May 1–September 30; non-peak October 1–April 30), and reservations are required through the official Recreation.gov reservation system.
