Temple View Yurt is a backcountry wilderness yurt run by Gooseberry Yurts on Gooseberry Mesa, on the North Rim just past the Windmill Trailhead. The yurt unit sleeps up to 6 people, and use requires a reservation; there is a fee to stay. You’re dealing with true off-grid conditions—no running water, electricity, or air conditioning—so bring your own water and supplies, along with bedding (sleeping bags and pillows) and wood for the cook stove/wood stove setup.

Access is by a dirt road: the yurts are about 7 miles down the road from the North Rim just past the Windmill Trailhead. Gooseberry Yurts notes that extreme weather can make access difficult and that check-in after dark isn’t recommended. The operator is closed during July and August due to hot temperatures, with the most comfortable months listed as March, April, May, mid to late September, October, and November.
