Trilobite Hut

Trilobite Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in Cobb Valley, in Kahurangi National Park (Nelson/Tasman region). It’s a standard 12-bunk hut used for overnight trips in Golden Bay area backcountry routes.

Use is first come, first served and no bookings are required, but you do need to pay for your nights stay by purchasing a Standard Hut Ticket (adult or youth) and placing it in the honesty box, or using a Backcountry Hut Pass for unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts. Fees listed run from $10 per night for adults (18+) and $5 per night for youth (5–17), with children/infants (0–4) free. A pit latrine is provided, and drinking water is available but untreated. The hut has a fireplace and mattresses.
