Abri de Pla Guillem

Abri de Pla Guillem is an unstaffed stone cabin (wood stove/“poêle à bois”, with a fireplace/cheminée) in the Canigó massif area at about 2,275 m. It’s the kind of backcountry stop used on overland hiking lines around Pla Guillem, with space for roughly 20 people to sleep on wooden platforms.

Overnight stays are first-come, first-served (no reservations accepted) and there’s no on-site warden. There’s a nearby water source, Source de Pla Guillem, but it can run low in summer, so plan to carry extra water and bring your own sleeping setup (sleeping bag/mat; no blankets are provided). The shelter is managed locally by the Club Alpin Français (CAF) de Prades Canigou.
