Abri du Pla del Bouc
Abri du Pla del Bouc is a small, free backcountry refuge at 1,875 m in the Capcir area. It’s a cabane non gardée (unstaffed shelter) used on a first-come, first-served basis, with sleeping space for 2 people on fixed banquettes; you can also pitch tents outside. Use is community-maintained by the Tous à Poêle association.
Inside, the shelter is very dark once the door is shut, with a fireplace/wood stove plus a small table and fixed benches. There’s no electricity or running water. A small kitchen setup is available (including basic utensils), and the water supply is the Aude (about 300 m away) that should be treated before drinking.
To reach it from Les Angles, take the forest track of Pla Del Mir, then continue on the GRP for about 2 km; when you reach a large meadow (ski fond trail start in winter), the shelter sits to the right, slightly uphill at the forest edge. The most recent updates indicate it has been maintained and kept functional for winter and summer use (including ski-season stays).
