Abri du mont Fourcat
Abri du mont Fourcat is an unmanned backcountry shelter in the Ariège Pyrenees area, sitting at about 1,883 m. It’s small, with room for 2 people, and it includes a fireplace plus two sleeping platforms along the lower wall.
The shelter is kept clean and includes a chimney (“cheminée”). It’s very close to the private Fourcat sheepfold/bergerie (about 20 m), making it a straightforward overnight spot when you’re moving along the Fourcat ridge route options (most commonly via the arête O / ONO from Croquié and the col de Traucadou, or via the NE arête—more exposed in winter with cornices).
