Cabane Aron
Cabane Aron is a small, open mountain shelter in the French Pyrenees (Ariège), used for backcountry overnights without staff. It sleeps 4 and sits at about 1,550 m elevation.
Inside, there is a fireplace (cheminée) and basic furnishings for resting: a rudimentary metal bed frame and a tabouret; interior notes also mention a dry concrete slab floor, no ceiling, and a sheet-metal roof with ongoing renovation-like material present. It is not set up with a stove, and it has no wood supply guaranteed—plan on carrying what you need.
For practical planning, it’s associated with the GR10 approach area. Water is available nearby (close to the hut), and most parties will treat the shelter as a lightweight emergency-and-shelter stop rather than a fully equipped refuge.
