Ancienne Cabane d'Hourataté

Ancienne Cabane d'Hourataté is a historic backcountry shelter (also known as Capana Vielha de Horatatèr) used by hikers in the Pyrenees. It’s a preserved stone cabane, rebuilt stone-by-stone after being saved from destruction at the ski station area of Arette La Pierre Saint Martin.

Inside, it has sleeping provisions and a fireplace. Accounts from past visitors describe mattresses/usable sleeping surfaces and note that it’s a practical option in bad weather, with nearby water available from a stream and a drinking-water pipe close by.
