Ardane Gaïnekoa
Ardane Gaïnekoa is a free, unmanaged backcountry shelter in the Basque Pyrenees (also known as Cayolar d'Ardane / Abri d'Ardané). It’s associated with local shepherds’ herding operations and provides a basic overnight stop for hikers and trekkers.
Inside, the shelter is set up for about 12 people, with sleeping spots on two bas-flancs; up to 8 people are on mattresses. There’s a fireplace and a picnic table, plus an outdoor/indoor drying line (clothesline). Bring a sleeping bag and mat—no bedding is supplied.
