Bas Sumaure
Bas Sumaure is a small backcountry shelter (unmanned) in the Mercantour National Park area near Entrevaux. It sits at about 1,055 m and is intended as a simple shelter stop rather than a staffed hut base camp.
The shelter has space for 3 people total, with two places on mattresses plus a sleeping option on a raised bed. Inside, it’s set up as a basic lean-to with two wooden side flanks; there’s no fireplace or stove provided, so plan to be fully self-sufficient for overnight needs.
Use is free with no reservation process; it’s is open access and managed by ONF Annot. Be aware that fires are not provided as an in-hut option, and in the park’s core area overnight bivouacking is regulated by specific time/distance rules (bivouac is allowed only under those constraints).
