Bergerie des Planes

Bergerie des Planes (1704 m) is a small, unstaffed shepherd’s shelter used as a backcountry stop on the Tour des Monges. It’s a one-room bergerie with space for 1 person and a wood stove; inside there’s bedding plus basic furnishings (a mattress, a table, and a stove), and there’s a nearby stream. A fireplace is not provided, and you should plan to bring what you need because there’s no cutting tool for firewood (no saw).

Access is by foot along the Tour des Monges: from the east via the col du Fanget, or from the west via the col des Tomples and a GR6 variant. The shelter is closed in June 2024, so summer timing can matter.
