Black Snake Creek Hut

Black Snake Creek Hut is a backcountry hut on Black Snake Creek, used for free camping at a roadside campground setting in Victoria’s Alpine National Park area. It sits beside the road between Dargo and the Wonnangatta Valley, with the adjoining camping area on the banks of the Wonnangatta River.

Use is first-come, first-served with no booking system. Expect bush camping with basic long-drop (pit) toilets, and bring everything you need including drinking water, firewood, and other supplies. Access is via Wonnangatta Road and typically needs a 4WD vehicle with clearance and low-range capability to reach the site.
