Cabane d'Auriste

Cabane d'Auriste is an unstaffed, free backcountry shelter in the Vallée d'Aspe near Arette, France. It’s intended for hut use on a first-come, first-served basis—no reservation is available—so arrive prepared to be self-sufficient. The shelter includes a functioning fireplace/wood heating and a potable water tap, with sleeping under a roof. Capacity is 6 people in both summer and winter, and it’s a cabane abierta (open) type shelter rather than a staffed refuge.
