Cabane de Bassibès is a non-staffed mountain cabin in the French Pyrenees (near Fontpédrouse), used by hikers as an informal backcountry sleeping stop when the nearby Refuge de la Carança is full. Use is free and it works on a first-come, first-served basis; there’s no booking or reservation system.

Inside it’s set up for up to about 10–15 people, with bedding/coverings and a wood stove plus a fireplace. The cabin provides wood, and there is drinking water close by (a nearby source). You’ll want to bring your own sleeping bag and food, and plan for basic backcountry conditions (no latrines are provided).
