Cabane de Boutas

Cabane de Boutas is a non-staffed Pyrenean backcountry hut (cabane non gardée) in the Ariège area, at about 1,585 m. It’s a pastoral cabin with space for roughly 10 people and typically provides 6 official mattresses plus additional foam pads.

Inside, the hut has solar lighting and a gas hotplate/gazinière setup, and it can be warmed with a fireplace/cheminée. Cooking gear includes pots/pans and some tableware; there’s also basic tools such as a wood saw, brooms, and a shovel. Use is free on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservation). It’s accessible year-round, and the hut can be reached via the Lavail valley from Luzenac with a well-marked approach and some cairns.
