Cabane de Campuls
Cabane de Campuls is a non-guarded backcountry hut in the French Pyrenees (1400 m). It’s set on two levels and used in summer by shepherds. Sleeping is tight: it provides places for about 5 people, with some mat sleeping on the upper level.
The hut is equipped for basic self-sufficiency: a table, chairs, and a large fireplace/stone chimney for heating and cooking. There’s also a torrent outside the hut and an outdoor water feature nearby; expect water availability to vary with season and conditions. Access and stays are on a free, first-come first-served basis—no booking system is required.
