Cabane de Chérue

Cabane de Chérue is a small backcountry mountain shelter in the French Pyrenees near the Pic de Chérue, used for self-supported overnights without staff. The hut is free to use, with sleeping on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservation system).

It sleeps 4 and has basic support: drinking water is available and you’ll need to bring your own sleeping bag, food, and mountaineering gear. If you’re planning an approach hike, a route commonly starts from Laruns (about 5. 6 km with ~560 m ascent for the walk-in), and the hut is open from May to October/November without snow.
