Cabane de Creisset, Le Haut Villard

Cabane de Creisset, Le Haut Villard is an unmanaged mountain shelter (cabane non gardée) in the Prealps near the abandoned village of Creisset. It’s a single-room setup with a fireplace and an indoor wooden table with benches, aimed at hikers who want a simple overnight stop rather than a staffed refuge.

Inside and around the cabin there’s no sleeping accommodation set up for you—there are no mattresses or designated beds. Bring your own sleeping bag and pad. Water is unreliable: there’s an outdoor fountain nearby, but it has been not to be running when people pass, so carry enough for your day(s) out.
