Cabane de la Culasse

Cabane de la Culasse (official name Refuge de la Culassa; also known as Villa Simon) is a small backcountry hut in the French Pyrenees, at about 1830 m. It’s an unmanaged refuge with free, first-come first-served use—no booking system—and it offers limited sleeping space (around 4 beds) plus a fireplace.

The shelter is equipped with basic metal bed frames and a fireplace; bring your own bedding/sleeping bag and food. A 2020 description notes the building is somewhat dated (broken windowpanes) but has shutters, and it has two chimney flues in average condition. Local shepherds and livestock farmers sometimes use it in summer.
