Cabane de la Goutta

Cabane de la Goutta is a small, unstaffed backcountry shelter in the Mercantour/Ubaye area, sitting at about 2,077 m. The cabin is in basic condition and set up for sleeping on a single wooden bed downstairs plus boards in the main sleeping area, with room for about 8 people total.

Inside, expect a table/benches and a stove/poêle; there’s no fireplace and no mattresses. Use is free and there’s no booking—plan for first-come, first-served sleeping and bring your own sleeping bag/sheet system.

The shelter is reached via a marked yellow PR path linking Super-Sauze with the Chapeau de Gendarme area. Expect roughly 3 km on foot (about 1 hour) from the Super-Sauze resort area, and for water to be nearby at the captured spring (tens of meters).
