Cabane de la Jasse de Girèys
Cabane de la Jasse de Girèys is an unguided backcountry hut in the French Pyrénées (Ariège), set up for self-sufficient stopovers. It’s a small masonry-style shelter with a wood stove and a sleeping capacity of 6, typically with 5 mattresses inside and additional space on benches/table if needed.
Plan for a first-come, first-served stay: it can be occupied by a shepherd from June onward. The hut sits at about 1,488 m, with water available within 100 m, but no fireplace is provided. You should bring what you need for a night in a remote shelter and be prepared to manage heating with the onsite stove.
