Cabane de Lasplanous
Cabane de Lasplanous (1838 m) is a small unstaffed mountain refuge on the GR10, placed on the crest north of the Col d'Arech between the Orle valley (east) and the Biros valley (west). It’s a basic stop designed for overnight use, with sleeping for up to 4 on mattresses (2 mattress spots are designated).
Inside, expect a simple layout: a table with bench/seat, a fireplace, and an upper sleeping level with a wooden floor and a large mattress. A water trough sits about 50 m south of the hut; if it’s not flowing, the backup is to follow the GR10 to the torrent cutting down from the south side.
Use is free and it runs as first-come, first-served with no booking system. For night safety, plan to bring your own sleeping setup for worst case—some reports note that conditions can change and may include missing bedding/wood—so come prepared as if the refuge may be less than fully stocked.
