Cabane de Légarce
Cabane de Légarce is a free, unstaffed backcountry cabane used by hikers and local shepherds as a transient stop or emergency shelter. It is a basic rustic structure; the cabane’s exterior features wooden shingle (bardeaux) on the facades and roof, a traditional coverage technique still found in the Aspe valley.
Approach in this area is typically from Osse-en-Aspe or via Col de Bergout, and it sits along the Layens ridgeline hike route where it passes other nearby cabanes (including Cabane de Coum).
