Cabane de l'étang de la Pradella

Cabane de l'étang de la Pradella is an unstaffed backcountry shelter in the Catalan Pyrenees, used as a first-stop sleeping option on long-distance hiking in the sector. The hut is at 1,960 m and is free (no booking/reservation process).

Inside, it has a built-in fireplace/cheminée and sleeping space for about 4 people (and up to 6 in tighter conditions), with furnishings such as benches and a long table. There’s no drinking water supply (plan to fetch water elsewhere), and there are no toilets or washing facilities.

Access is on the GR 10. The shelter sits at the end of the Etang de la Pradella path, and the immediate area is having a flat, grassy ground and an exterior fire spot (where fire rules permit). In the same protected natural setting, camping/bivouacking is generally limited to nighttime, and fires are prohibited.
