Cabane de Pédain

Cabane de Pédain is an unstaffed backcountry hut in the Cirque de Lescun (around 1,590 m). It serves two purposes: a section kept for the local shepherd through the summer, and a part left for hikers passing through. It sleeps up to 6 people and is equipped with a living room (table for 6) and a stove; a separate sleeping room offers up to 4 places when the cabin is used in winter.

For overnight use, you should plan as if the hut is not guarded and that you can’t rely on reservation or a booking system. In winter, electricity and running water are cut, so come prepared; a small permanent stream exists nearby if you need water higher up the valley. The hut does not have a fireplace, so heat will come from the stove and your own cold-weather kit.
