Cabane de Pouey

Cabane de Pouey is an unstaffed mountain shelter in the French Pyrenees (Vallée de Lutour, near Cauterets). Use it as a backcountry stop where you can sleep on the basic platforms and heat up with the built-in chimney/fireplace.

Plan for a no-frills night: small-capacity use is typical (around a handful of sleepers), with limited interior comfort and no on-site staffing. From Cauterets, you reach it by taking the road toward the Pont d’Espagne, parking at the “Fruitière” area, then continuing on foot along the route beside the gave du Lutour until you pass the hut (about 45 minutes to an hour).
