Cabane de Pra Joli

Cabane de Pra Joli is an unguided backcountry mountain refuge in the Parc national du Mercantour, used as a simple overnight stop rather than a staffed refuge. The cabin sits just southeast of the Col de Talon in the Bouchier valley area, at about 2,337 m.

It’s a small shelter built for two people, with sleeping space for 2 and a wood-burning stove (with wood and a few tools at visits). Water is available nearby, and the cabin has no fireplace (just the stove) and no latrines.

Plan for self-sufficiency: it’s unstaffed and open for free use without a booking system. Bring a sleeping bag/appropriate bedding, plan to pack out all trash, and be ready for limited space and basic shelter conditions.
