Cabane de Saoutelle

Cabane de Saoutelle is a rustic backcountry shelter in the French Pyrénées-Atlantiques, near Borce in the Vallée d'Aspe. The refuge is a simple open hut that’s occupied by a shepherd in summer, while it’s free to use outside that grazing period.

Use is first-come, first-served outside summer: there’s no advance booking for stays, and visitors are expected to bring their own sleeping setup. The hut has a wood stove and typically sleeps 4 in winter; it’s is a small, older shelter (about 50 meters from the newer structure).
