Cabane des Coumels

Cabane des Coumels is an unguided backcountry hut at 1,526 m in the French Pyrenees, used as a free shelter (no guarding and no reservable bed system). It sleeps 2 and provides a table, a fireplace, and two sleeping spots on a wooden bench area (bat flanc).

In summer pasture periods, the hut may be occupied by a local shepherd. When you plan an overnight, assume you’ll be dealing with a first-come, first-served situation and bring what you need for sleeping and fire use; verify trail connections before you go, since reaching the hut can require solid navigation.
