Cabane des Espugues

Cabane des Espugues (2113 m) is a non-staffed mountain shelter in the Ariège Pyrenees area, used as a backcountry hut. It has room for about 10 people to sleep, with a fireplace inside and basic furniture.

Use is free and no booking is accepted; it’s first-come, first-served. The shelter is equipped with a rescue post, and you should plan to bring your own sleeping bag (and extra warmth/comfort), since you may share the space. A non-staffed night also means no stove provision—so bring a way to manage meals appropriately for hut use.
